Communication

At a university, communication is the basis for successful interaction between the various players in the academy's operations. It must work and function both externally and internally.

The University Communications Department is a staff unit of the Academy. Susanne Schiller-Winkel is also the Rector's advisor. This ensures immediate proximity to the rectorate, which determines the strategic direction. Nicolaz Groll holds a degree in graphic design and is responsible for digital communication and the design of printed materials.

Bringing exhibitions and lectures, events and changes to the public's attention is the department's core competence, and yet it constitutes only a fraction of its remit. Raising the profile of the academy in terms of external impact requires continuous image and contact cultivation in wide areas of university and cultural life in the city, the region and far beyond. Cooperations are important and useful for this. Susanne Schiller-Winkel and Nicolaz Groll are the contact persons for our partners outside the university as well as internally for all professors, colleagues and students who have concerns with communication issues. The topics event organization, marketing and student acquisition are also docked to the university communication. Exhibitions are co-organized, lectures are planned, and concepts are developed on how the academy can make itself fit for the future in terms of public relations.

The forms of communication have changed. Traditional press releases are being replaced by digital formats, which are maintained and used by the department's staff. This is where we meet our target groups and can address them directly: prospective students, students and alumni, but also art lovers, museum people and gallery owners. Dr. Susanne Schiller-Winkel and Nicolaz Groll don't wait to attract attention, they do it themselves every day by reporting from the Academy on various channels.
