Professionalisation
Preparation for professional independence after studying Fine Arts is also an important aspect of academic training at the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe. The courses offered include so-called professionalisation seminars, which are aimed at advanced students. Based on a call for proposals that has been submitted to the Academy, the future artists are accompanied in the application and design phase by an artist experienced in this field. One of the participants will then carry out the commission.
In a compact professionalisation workshop, the Diploma and Masterclass students will be introduced to all topics related to independent entrepreneurship. The cooperation with the Art Office of the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg makes it possible to deepen individual topics, for which seminars and workshops are offered at various locations or online. Some of these also take place at the Karlsruhe Art Academy.
Once a year, a representative of the Künstlersozialkasse gives a lecture on social insurance; this event is also organised by the Kunstbüro. The knowledgeable staff of the Kunstbüro offers personal consultations in person and online. The current consultation dates can be found on the Kunstbüro homepage.
Notice: The language of instruction at the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe is German. Therefore, the study programmes and courses offered during the semester are presented and conducted in German. Please use an online translation tool if necessary.
