Artistic Discourse

The pursuit of knowledge through art is the central tenet of discourse among professors, scholars, and learners alike. This dynamic takes place within a comprehensive artistic and social framework, spanning both the classroom and the broader university community. The theoretical subjects accompanying the studies play a crucial role in providing a solid historical and humanistic context.

At the Academy, we actively facilitate interactions with artists and art scholars, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas. The Tuesday lecture series provides an ideal platform for this intellectual engagement. These sessions, led by artists or scholars, are often complemented by studio visits, particularly tailored to advanced students. The Riemschneider Foundation Karlsruhe has been part of the study programme offerings since 2012.

The Riemschneider Lectures attract esteemed figures from both the Fine Arts and Sciences, who deliver insightful presentations. These valuable contributions will be compiled and published in a dedicated series.

Furthermore, conferences held at the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe, occasionally in collaboration with other institutions, serve as platforms for exploring diverse scientific focal points. This collaborative approach broadens the scope of academic inquiry and fosters interdisciplinary dialogue.
