Kalinowski-Prize

In 2011, the sculptor and graphic artist Horst Egon Kalinowski (1924–2013) founded an estate foundation with the purpose of preserving his oeuvre and making it publicly accessible. The foundation is managed in trust by the Stiftung Kunstfonds. The proceeds from the foundation fund the Kalinowski Prize, which has been awarded annually since 2017. The prize, valued at 10,000 euros, is exclusively open to graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe. The application period takes place at the beginning of each year. The jury, which changes each year, consists of three members: two members of the Kunstfonds Jury for Scholarships and a professor from the Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe. The jury evaluates applications solely based on artistic quality.
