FJH Schneider Foundation Student Promotion Prize
The artist Friedrich J.H. Schneider (1923-2000), born in Dortmund, studied at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste in Hamburg starting in 1946. From 1947 to 1952, he continued his artistic education at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe. He was primarily influenced by his professor Otto Laible (1898-1962), who supported him significantly. Karlsruhe thus became Schneider’s artistic home. This is why his son, Raphael Schneider, is committed to ensuring that the annual funding from the foundation bearing F.J.H. Schneider's name is awarded to a student of the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe. The FJH Schneider Prize will be awarded for the first time at the 2024 Annual Exhibition.
