Additional Study Programmes

In addition to the regular courses of study, the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe also offers other study options:

Guest auditors

Students with sufficient artistic aptitude can attend individual courses as guest auditors - if there is sufficient capacity. The following are admitted:

  • Participants in courses offered by professors (usually for the duration of one semester).
  • refugee Ukrainians as a possibility of immediate and unbureaucratic admission (for the duration of two semesters, with exemption from fees).

It is the responsibility of the interested student to find a host professor. Guest auditor studies are also possible in courses on Art History, Art and Theory, Art Didactics and Educational Science. Interested students should contact the respective professors directly.

As a guest auditor, you are not enrolled and do not take any exams. Your academic achievements are not recognised.

Programme students and foreign students

The Kunstakademie Karlsruhe has a number of cooperation agreements with foreign universities. So-called programme students (e.g. Erasmus+ or Baden-Württemberg scholarship) of the partner universities can be enrolled for up to two semesters upon application within the framework of these cooperations.

Foreign students who do not wish to study at the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe within the framework of a cooperation or scholarship programme may remain at the Kunstakademie Karlsruhe for a maximum of two semesters. They have to pay tuition fees - just like their fellow visiting students.
