The Diploma Programme Fine Arts, with a standard study lenght of ten semesters, focuses on artistic practice in Painting/Graphic Arts or Sculpture. In order to promote the development of a personal, visual language, the main focus of the study programme is on an intensive examination in the studio within the class structure.
In addition, students engage in theoretical discussions of fundamental questions of artistic practice through participation in Art Historical and Art Philosophical seminars and event series. The degree programme is completed by a Diploma examination, which consists of the presentation of the Diploma thesis, the presentation and oberservation of works with questioning by a selected group of artistic professors and an additional theoretical examination. The diploma thesis is an independent artistic work, which is evaluated according to the following criteria: artistic design ability, manual ability, artistic objective and reflective ability.
After the Diploma degree and a possible subsequent Masterclass Student Expanded Programme, the artistic independence follows, for which the Academy prepares the graduates specifically through professionalisation offers.
