Classes in Painting/Graphic Arts

The joint practical study of the Fine Arts and of Art Teacher Training is conducted in student class-groups. These classes set out to uncover and develop independent artistic approaches while concomitantly developing or trying out artistic techniques and working processes. The aesthetic and social preconditions or opportunities for the production of creative artistic forms are analysed in the complex unity of individual works of art.

The class-group context for the study of art puts the professor’s personal guidance at the very heart of the educational process. Other members of the Academy also are brought in to play their part in the exchange of ideas within and between the individual classes. This teaching-and-learning structure provides both the necessary free space to fully exploit the personal opportunities for developing artistic independence and at the same time exposes students to the perpetual challenge which the professors embody through their very presence and their own oeuvres.
