Ben Lewis ist Autor, Podcaster und Dokumentarfilmer. Er spricht über seine mehr als zwanzigjährige Auseinandersetzung mit der Welt der zeitgenössischen Kunst. Dabei gibt er Einblick in seine Arbeiten wie die TV-Serie Art Safari (2003–2007), den Dokumentarfilm The Great Contemporary Art Bubble (2009) und sein Buch The Last Leonardo (2019). Der Vortrag thematisiert Entwicklungen im internationalen Kunstbetrieb. Er berichtet von Künstlerkarrieren und Marktmechanismen bis hin zu Fälschungsskandalen und öffentlichen Inszenierungen.
 

Ben Lewis ist international bekannt für seine kritischen Recherchen im Kunstbereich und seine Betrachtung an den Schnittstellen von Kultur, Politik und Wirtschaft. Sein Buch „The Last Leonardo“ über das 450 Millionen Dollar teure Gemälde Salvator Mundi, das Leonardo da Vinci zugeschrieben ist, erschien bei HarperCollins (UK) und Penguin Random House (USA) . Es entstand während eines Forschungsaufenthalts am Warburg Institute in London. Zu seinen Dokumentarfilmen zählen The Great Contemporary Art Bubble (BBC, Arte, SVT), A Banker’s Guide to Art (BBC, 2016), Google and the World Brain (2012, Premiere beim Sundance Film Festival) sowie The Beatles, the Hippies and the Hells Angels (2017) über die Apple Corporation der Beatles. Ben Lewis will reflect on his career spanning more than two decades, sharing perspectives and stories from his work in the contemporary art world. Drawing on his TV series Art Safari (2003–2007), the documentary The Great Contemporary Art Bubble (2009), and his book The Last Leonardo (2019), Lewis explores the structures, contradictions, and developments that shape the global art scene—from the rise of contemporary artists and the financialization of the art market to the role of forgery and spectacle.

Ben Lewis is internationally recognised for his investigations into the art world and for examining where culture intersects with politics and economics. The Last Leonardo — an account of the $450 million Salvator Mundi, attributed to Leonardo da Vinci — was published by HarperCollins (UK) and Penguin Random House (USA), and written during his time as a Visiting Fellow at the Warburg Institute in London. His feature-length documentaries include The Great Contemporary Art Bubble (BBC, Arte, SVT), A Banker’s Guide to Art (BBC, 2016), Google and the World Brain (2012, Sundance premiere), and The Beatles, the Hippies and the Hells Angels (2017), about the Beatles’ Apple Corporation.
