The university leadership comprises the Rector, a Prorectress, a Prorector, and the Chancellor. The collegial rectorate is led by the Rector and is responsible for a wide range of tasks: from the university's structural and development planning, including personnel development, to construction planning, the negotiation of university contracts, the implementation of decisions made by governing bodies, and quality management systems — among many other key responsibilities. To manage this workload, the rectorate is divided into departments, each overseen by an individual member of the rectorate.
