Friends of the Academy
Supporting Art – I´m with You
Our ‘Friends of the Academy’ Association is dedicated to supporting the work of the State Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe. We promote and finance student-generated projects – guest lectures, conferences and professionalization programmes for graduates. Equally, we regularly award travel grants enabling students to undertake study trips to the major art cities of the world such as New York, Milan, Amsterdam or Vienna.
On the one hand, we cultivate contact with students through the annual Academy tour – a regular fixture during the Summer Exhibition – and through the Master, Degree and Débutant exhibitions. On the other hand, we provide the opportunity to meet and talk to the Academy professors directly, for example in the framework of studio visits.
We set great store by this kind of cultural dialogue.
In 2012, ‘Friends of the Academy’ celebrated its 50th anniversary. In the same year, Horst Marschall became President of our Association.
Becoming a Member
The Association is open to all individuals – and of course also to all institutions – who would like to play their part in the support of the arts. An annual fee of €60 is all it takes to become a member.
